Brand is not really important. the gauge and grounding points are.

It's really a matter of opinion. Some like to use the chassis for grounding points (Strut Towers, Firewall, etc.). There's no real proven data. I've seen way too may unsupported claims, phony dyno's, etc.
For my setup I used 4 Ga. You can use 6 or 8, as well. I used a centalized block, bolted to the chassis. These are the points I used.

1) Battery
2) Engine Lift Bracket.
3) Transmission
4) Intake Manifold (Upper)
5) Ignition Coil Bracket

I've heard many say that they feel better throttle response, smoother idle and increased auto trans response. Is it measureable? Barley. Is it so? We can convince ourselves of anything to justify actions. I'm not saying theres no improvement. There is some. Do yourself a favor. Buy the least expensive kit. Buying an $80 kit is a waste for mythical gains.

yea i was looking at kits and they are real damn expensive i was thinking about doing it myself and i've also heard all the same stuff you have about it. the kits i've seen are $100 or more and there is no way i'm paying that for 3 cables and a box
