Re: rx 7

i do know bout the jdm models, first of all, they would be illegal over here due to the fact they are right hand drive. second, the hp increase was in 99 when they upgraded the turbos, smaller wheels, clipped differently. they also have a better stock turbo y pipe. other than that ?. u can buy those turbos and y-pipe and put them on a fd3s(amer spec)its quite a difference(bout 25 hp!)trust me i know from experience!

Re: rx 7

RHD is not illegal in the U.S. They would be hard to legalize because of emissions among other things.

Re: rx 7

emessions is the only resons why certain cars are ilegal to be imported. But then you have the rule where a car 15 years or older doesn't need to be emssion tested so that's when you can import any car no matter what kind of emissions.

There are many RHD cars already in the states, most common would be mail courriers

Re: rx 7

its usually emissons and crash/safety regulations (ie why some cars have different bumpers) why cars are hard to import to the us.

Too bad this rule only applies to Canada...

Re: rx 7

i heard that u have to crash test a vehicle three times under gov standards. which means u must buy three jap spec rxs to satisfy them. then if it fails, u cant get it! i guess if someone has done it already u'd be ok.

Re: rx 7

Well my uncle could do better with explaining that then I could but he knew a few people in his unit that imported a few benz and bmw's (I'm not even going to try to spell the correct name because I would slaughter it.) He thought about importing one for him self but he decided that his s10 would suit him fine. Next time I hear from him I'll ask what all they had to go through to get them imported.
