Kicked out

Hey everyone, Funny story.

I got kicked out of Kragen autoparts. I was looking for a manual for my cav and was being told by some kid there (I assumed he was 23 or so) that real mechanics don't need this or that and just pretty much telling me how to deal with my own car right? well... I gave him hell, asked him what right he has to tell me how I take care of my car. He used the phone and called his friends down to come "kick my car's ass." Supposedly I had talked crap about muscle cars and he called a few guys with muscle cars to come have a "word" with me... hold on. it gets better.

Next day, more of the same. but I finally had it with his bullshit, and told him to do his damn job and don't tell me what to do with my car and my money. and I was kicked out of the store for supposedly being hostile... I dunno. Someone pity me! ><. claimed he had every right because he was the manager... last I heard the GM of the place fired him... anyways, that's my story. Your thoughts?

Re: Kicked out

Is he all about Muscle cars? Because you don't need a manual for them! All you need is some home made tools! When all you have on the accesory belt is a water pump and an alternator is not hard to go wrong. Maybe he never even looked at anything made after 1975!

Re: Kicked out

You know your good when you can catch the dealership trying to F you over! I've caught onto their game along time ago. Then when you get the owner of the store involved and prove to him the manager of the service Dept., and general manager were trying to charge me for work never done and lie about it and prove the case my way... lets just say they no longer work there.. Man i love being an asshole. Don't let them every try to tell you when you need a new thermostat and coolant flush that they needed to remove your radiator... Trying to charge me an extra 75 bucks for a so called extra hour of work which when the said they have to pull the radiator just dug themselves a deeper whole. Ass holes...

you know in a followup....

my car got keyed to hell. I came back and my graphic was all keyed up and the door and everything... the list of suspects is short but first thing's first.

how the hell am I gonna fix all of this? Painters.. any tips? hell... I have full coverage... maybe they'll pay it... knowing my insurance they'll prolly try to pin it on me...

my gods I have never been fucked over so hard in my life. I swear I'm gonna fucking lose it if I find the bastard who fucked up my whip... Who the hell does that?

Got an estimate.. little over 1k in damage.... yeah. I'm fucked. Seriously.

Angry Re: Kicked out

Man, that [if your suspicions are correct] is the lamest thing I ever heard of anyone doing to a guy's ride. What a [insert choice of profane term here] that mo fo is!!!!!!!! Dayum, it's your bucks, who the f is some pimply-faced wannabe/thinkabee to tell you how to fork over your cash??????

A good bud of mine works behind a partscounter, but is also ASE certified inwrenching brakes, a/c, and a few other things. He has to annually refresh his cert.'s, so too bad ya didn't ask the idiot if he could even spell certification. Stay cool, keep moving on, that punk not worth your time of day, bud.

Re: Kicked out

Not to mention that with all the stuff and changes the big three make damn near annually, you need a manual!!!!!!!!! Plain and simple, why give yourself a headache or a stroke for f'ing something up that a good manual points out step by step. Yeah, right, "a real mechanic doesn't need a book". A real mechanic USES a book to best serve his customers!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would run away from anyone who doesn't have access to manuals for my ride before they even open their toolbox.

yeah I hear you. Sometimes a manual is the only thing that can get you out of tight spaces... what else can you do? I mean sure once you've done a job enough times it becomes habitual and you don't need a manual but you never know. it's like a security blanket in my mind sometimes.

Re: Kicked out

Mechs manuals are little more comprehensive though and a little more expensive. For a quick fix use coloured insualtion tape to fix your graphics!
