Question where to find this amp?????

Can anyone tell me where I could find this particular amp it's from SPL Dynamics DIG-1450 (in the US). They sell it all over Europe but I can't find anyone who sells the in the US. Thanks in advance.

Re: where to find this amp?????

PaulD,
yeah that's the thing. the amp is made in finland. and it's distro'ed through europe. but with the british pound and the euro so high, if i were to buy it here i would almost be paying twice as much as if i were to buy it in the states with dollars.

so if anyone can let me know please do, i am very interested in trying one of these amps out, thanks

you wanna buy a finish amp in the US and ship it to Italy ? Have you ever heard of import duties .... the amp has got to be more expensive here.

Yeah I've heard of import tax/duties, but i don't have to pay them. i am tax exempt here in italy. but the problem is that they sell the amps here but cost way to much even if i were to buy it tax free. that's why i want to find a place that sells them in the states. buy it online and still get it with no tax, even though i still have to pay for shipping. i will still save money cause the exchange rate for the euro to the dollar is to high right now.

you must be in the military over there, like Aviano AB or whatever. Yea, it sux when the dollar is down - makes it REAL hard to live over there. And yea, if that's true, you only pay the shipping to the APO .... the govt picks up the rest. Not a bad deal if you ask me. But why these amps ? Are they REALLY that freakin awesome ?

Re: where to find this amp?????

PaulD & TheSilentChamber,
actually aviano is about 2 hours away from where i'm at. i stay in vicenza. if you remember the beginning of the war with iraq and there was the paratroopers that jumped into northern iraq, they were from vicenza. anyhow i wouldn't say that they are awesome are stupendous, i recently seen a pair of these amps running down at .5 ohm's each and they were blasting those subs with clean power. it's a class d, so even running a .5 ohm's it didn't even run hot. i'm looking for an amp that can run down at .5ohms stable for everyday use not just at shows.

do you guys know any amps that can run at .5 ohm's stable for everyday use? and push over 1000watts at 1 ohm?

for me i need to see it to believe it rather than just read the manufac's specs and believe what they write. i seen this amp run at .5 ohms and it was stable that's why i was looking for one in the states. but if you guys can point me to another amp i may change my mind on this one.

I wouldn't run a nine.1 at .5 ohms daily.... for burps MAYBE but its pushing it. check out some amps from mmats www.mmatsproaudio.com they have some .5 ohm stable amps.

Well, the 1500d that I had(think I have another on its way) will run @.5 but not recomended. It will however run all day long @1ohm AND have over 1200RMS. Heck the newer version they toned down a bit will run like that... http://directed.com/audio/amps/default.asp You should try to find something from the states or where ever you are stationed just for customer help. One of the nice things about DEI is they have a warranty replace setup on new equipment vs. warranty repair. I hated sending stuff back to JL Audio. It would take months to get them back and usually lasted only for a little time.

One thing to look for is if they are APS compliant. If not, the numbers may be over-inflated. Also, make sure you have to run @ 1/2 ohm. If you don't, you'll save big $$$. It is very hard to get a Class d amp to safely run that low. They become unstable. McIntosh use to make some awesome sub amps that could go to 1/4 ohm but they were tube style amps and needed an enormous amount of space and a lot of heat was generated.

Re: where to find this amp?????

What subs are you going to be running? And I agree with bumpin on the Mmats, they are designed to do .5ohm safely. Importantly what subs will run off this amp?

Yeah well you'll have to pick the D3000.05 amp which can be pricey. Again, I would question if he will actually be going to .5 ohm. Are the subs 2ohm DVC?
