Question Shuts off, then starts fine...

On cold days, my '97 Ram 1500 Club Cab 4x4, 5.9L starts up, runs fine for a few seconds, then cuts off. I wait a second or two, then it starts up fine and is good to go for the rest of the day. Any ideas?

Everyone here has always been great about providing any assistance they can about a problem, so is it just that no one knows what this issue may be about the cutting off problem or that I've posted something improperly?...please let me know.

could be the engine doesn't have the fuel supply it needs ( psi) so it cuts out and then you start it back up and the fuel pump then primes up and runs fine

also may want to try some gas antifreeze (heet) with every gas stop.

Isn't this what Bama's truck was doing? Or was it just stalling sometimes?

What does heet do? The past few days I haven't had this problem. The temp. outdoors the past few days has been between 58-65 degrees and it has started right up.

Heet is a gas additive that eliminates water in the gas tank. The suggestion is that you have "gas line freeze" blocking gas supply.
