check engine light / iat sensor

hi there i just put cold air intake on my car, i was really surprised with how it performs, and the sound, wow, im really excited about it, on to my question..... when i first got done i forgot to hook the iat sensor back up, i noticed this when i was driving and saw my check engine light on, i knew it was the iat sensor immediatly, i pulled over, shut the car off, hooked it back up and started the car, the light was still on, i thought, alright, ill just disconnect the battery when i get home to reset the computer, i did that the light is still on, so then i thought i might need to leave the battery disconected for a little bit longer then 10 seconds, i let it sit for maybe 10-15 mins, hooked it back up, and the check engine light is still on, any input would be greatly appreciated, you guys havent done me wrong with advice yet, so im hoping somebody has an idea, thanks in advace

I did the same but you need to leave it disconnected overnight if it happens again. 10 seconds isn't long enough!

Re: check engine light / iat sensor

Go to AutoZone or any car store, and ask to get the codes read on your computer. The problem might be something completely unrelated, if it comes back that is.

You said 10 seconds first like you would a computer or other elect device and then you said 10-15 mins. Leaving it overnight will always worjk and if it was something else it will comeback on but as it rectified itself it shouldn't although if you do get your codes pulled in the future the IAT will probably show up even though the problem has gone.
