My Truck Is A 92 Chevy With Fairly New Tranny.tranny Works Just Fine But Makes A Noise. Just Here Recently It Started Making A Rattling Sound. It Sounds Like Its Coming From Torque Converter. It Doesnt Really Sound Like It Is A Broke Flywheel Its Not That Solid And It Doesnt Sound Like A Bearing It Sounds Like There Is A Nut Or Somthing Rolling Around In Converter. Anyone Have Any Clues????? It Gets Worse When The Gas Is Pressed.

Re: 4l60e Tranny Question
did you take off the inspection plate and look inside to see if anything is broken off or any loose nuts are in there?

Re: 4l60e Tranny Question
Could be a heat shield in that area... my truck does the same thing, and I know it's a heat shield.

Re: Re: 4l60e Tranny Question
i have removed the whole cover and it still makes that noise im starting to believe it is in the torque converter. i just figured it would make some performance problems but it has'nt. ive even been to tranny shops and nobody seems to know what it is. one shop told me it was the starter i didnt think it was but i replaced it anyway and it didnt help anything. so im still at a loss. thanks
