MPH went out but throwing fuel injector code

I have a 91 crx si. On the way to lunch inbetween classes i noticed my mph gauge isn't moving. It was fine in the morning. After a few minutes the check engine light came out. I counted 17 blinks which would be a fuel injector. But somewhere i read 19 is the Vehical Speed Sensor. When it is cold outside in the morning. The first start up takes a few seconds to turn over and wants to idle around 2000 rpms. The rest of the day it'll drop to about 1000 rpms and I will have no problems with it turning over right away. Could this possibly be a bad fuel injector. Also I belive they are the orginals and i have about 115000 on it should they be changed thanks for you help

Re: MPH Gauge went out

Fuel injectors could be bad but I'd be certain about the code first. Also, you have an Si with a FICV (fast idle control valve) so don't worry about the high rpm upon cold start up. You could mess with the idle screw and trottle cable if you want it a little lower. As for your speedo gauge not working, make sure the cable is in your tranny tight. Also make sure it's plugged into the back of your gauge tight.

Re: MPH Gauge went out

speedo problem wouldnt have anything to do with your fuel injector, its cable driven. If its not working it should also be throwing a code for the VSS. Pull the cable out of your tranny, its by the rear mount area once you have it out, pull on the cable itself, if it pulls from the housing you have a broken cable. They are like $25 bucks from the parts store and are really easy to replace.
