5speed bell housing bolts?

I have a '97 s-10 V-6. I have to replace the throw-out bearing and i was curious if anyone knows how many bell housing bolts are on the 5-speed tranny? Also, if there are any tricks of the trade out their to get the transmission out easy, i would appreciate the help.
Thanks

I would buy a repair manual for your truck.

Do NOT ever just wing it.

Re: 5speed bell housing bolts?

I would look straight down the back of the motor. If you can see one top dead center, look for an odd number.

Sorry, being a new female mechanic, that is my technique. When I changed my 4.3 there were 6 if that helps! They were about 1:30, 3:00, 4:30, 7:30, 9:00 and 10:30. If is anything like mine, get a girlfriend with small hands and a dozen roses!!! Thats why my boyfriend decided not to change it. He was gonna sell it!
