b16 for 600$?

I found a b16 locally for 600$, which is like 30 bucks less tan a ZC, but it only comes with the Motor, Intake Manifold, Exhaust Manifod, Injectors, Fuel Rail, and throttle body.

Since I have the saturn now i don't need to have an engine in the car right away.

Based on what the engine comes with for that price, would it be worth buying it and then getting everything else seperate. Or just save up and buy a complete b16 set for $1700 (with lsd tranny)

Or just stick with getting a ZC and boosting it.

I am making an extra 350$ a month now... so I want to treat myself with something nice.

I say grab the B16 for that price. I would offer them $500 cash first to see if they bite it.

Re: b16 for 600$?

$600 American seems like a lot for just the motor if you ask me...

Re: b16 for 600$?

Not really. All he needs is axles, shift linkage, tranny, and harness. I guess if you "part" everything out it's about the same price. Just look around first and see how much you can get the rest of the parts for.

Re: b16 for 600$?

I wouldn't buy it, its probably beat. hes still gonna need a ecu and stuff. and no he wont need a harness, he can just use his hf one, its a well known fact that you dont use the JDM harness.

Re: b16 for 600$?

i say buy it, i had a zc and omg i hate them, but thats just me, the b16 would be a whole lot better, plus itll be cheaper than the zc since i think the zc comes with everything the b16 has except the transmission.

Re: b16 for 600$?

my bad i typed before i thought about it, plus i think i was tlakin backwards, i meant on hmotorsonline, the zc, if your talking about the dohc one, comes with the simple shit, cept the ECU. I dunno what the b16 comes with, but i think the zc os sold out on hmotors, i dunno im all confused srry.

Re: b16 for 600$?

i have a chipped pm6 in my car right now, so i already have an ecu for the ZC... but the b16 is just so ... more powerful i guess i could say?

the only thing stopping me is I don't have a lot of time to be able to work on the motor to put it all together and I don't have a large amount of money to be dumping on something new every month... but at the same time I have a working car so I don't need to get the CRX running right away.

I just don't know ahhhhhhh!

Re: b16 for 600$?

i say get the b16 just cuz thats a pretty good price, and if you plan on boosting anyway, use the b16. those damn zc's are a pain in the ass, i know. but the b16 is just worth it.

Re: b16 for 600$?

Personally I would save a little more for a B18. just my opinion though.

Re: b16 for 600$?

i say stick with your zc or stick in an ls motor, i saw that motor awhile back when i had my 4g and it just seems like a good price, once you get everything else you need to put that motor in and have it run your still spending about 1600-2000
