I have been advised a few different ways as far as redoing my engine in my '94 Integra goes. The only thing for sure, new tranny...five speed!
First--> buy a new type r spec engine (and tranny) Second--> keep my bottom end and buy a type r head Third-->rebuild my engine and get some new parts (ie: flywheel & cams) What would you guys do? Or other suggestions? Thanks :smoka:

It depends where you want to go.
For example LS has long gears which makes it good if you got turbo or have lots of power. Its also gets better gas milage than any other tegra trans. Type-R is good because it has LSD in it, a big plus. It aslo is good for Vtec engines, because it keeps you inside the Vtec powerband when shifting, which makes it faster. Depending on your engine condition, you might consider rebuilding it. That way you get more power from wahtever mody you plan. Depending on how much money you got, second option will be the least expensive, but not much gains from it. When building a your bottom end (for NA) go with 10.5:1 or 11:1 compression pistons, also biring it .020 over will make sure that you block is in good shape to be further modified. good luck |
