Help me build my suspension.

I want to change out a lot of stuff on my factory DX suspension.

I want to know (performance wise) what I can change out without hurting my daily driveability too bad? I want a car great for straights, curves, and around town crusing.

What are some pros and cons of things like;
ITR lcas
sway bars
alignment kits
strut bars
urethane bushings
full adjustable coilovers
etc....

Any and all info will help.
I've searched the web and info comes up short or confusing.

Re: Help me build my suspension.

well there arent really any cons of strut/sway bars they will keep your turns tighter and keep the body from sawying. the new bushings will jsut help the ride be alittle cleaner. as for the adjsutable coilovers well if your jsut gonna buy coils and put them o nyor ustock struts is not bad u jsut get alittle bit bouncer of a ride. but i would probably reccommend struts and coils packages if your going lower then 1.5 inchs.

Blu civic,
This would be safe for daily driving. I really don't want a shitty ride or tires being eaten monthly.

And brakes are next, I can push the brake pedal all the way to the floor with no give. I was thinking rear disc conversion of some sort and wilwood fronts.

But, right now I'm focused on suspenion and driveablility.

if u think this won't be safe or will cause u to go thru tires...then u should keep ur suspension stock and not ask at all

price is new from manufacture...can probably get this cheaper on ebay or at different web site...this is just what I would use...u can add or take away from some of the things i mentioned or go with a different manufacture

I want a simple suspension- similar to a stock type-r in performance and driveability. But, I don't want to change out something if it causes problems in driveability now or in the future. I want pros and cons mainly on LCAs, radius rods, alignment kits, and urethane/rubber bushings.

Re: Help me build my suspension.

there are no cons about the suspension setup the i showed u other than the price...and if u want something good for your car then it ain't gonna be cheap...nothing to change out, nothing to adjust (except the ride height and strut damper setting when u want to be more aggressive)

difference between urethane/rubber bushings is that urethane is better but if u don't lube it, it will squeek

by alignment kit u mean camber kit? everyone has their opnions on which set-up and manufacture to go with

other than that...i'm sure someone else can help u

Price is not too much of an issue. What you listed can be obtained fairly easy.

I meant progress alignment kit.

Thanks for the info Blu.

Re: Help me build my suspension.

I think you should fix your brake pedal problem first. Safety should be your first priority. After that do your suspension.

Well , I'm going to to order some coilovers first. Then, address my brake problem. After that I will work on completing my suspension. The car will be safe before my engine swap.

While we're on the subject of brakes

I know the wilwood big brake kit would be worth it, but I hear upgrading larger rotors hurts acceleration. Is this true?

Are there any aftermarket OE sized kits?

Blu,
I would try convert brakes to those of integras but, It is just easier for me to order from a website than search the junkyards.

And I also heard an aftermarket front sway bar creates too much understeer. Is this true?

Thanks

Re: Help me build my suspension.

it does create a lot of understeer...but i think itz better to have both on the street rather than just one...and to take the front off when at the track...atleast i think that's how it goes
