Newb car audio alpine questions

Hi, this is my first post. How good are the honda civic stock speakers? I was thinking about switching them out with:
http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/...=104&p_main=10
and
http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/...=104&p_main=10
But if they won't make that much of a difference, I don't think I will.

Also for a sub, is an alpine sub decent? Particularly this model
http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/...=160&p_main=10

And this alpine amp lol.
http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/...=140&p_main=10

And finally this alpine head unit
http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/...y=20&p_main=10

I can get all of this and installation done for about $700. My budget is about $1000 and I am willing to change if the difference will be that dramatic. I am not looking for a insane sounding system, just one currently better than my stock setup, I don't even have a cd player in the car lol.

Thanks for your time!!

Yes the difference will be night and day. Those are all good components too.

Well, personally I can't stand ALpine anymore. They use to be the one to have back in the early 90's but kinda ended up being like Fosgate and MTX---riding on their names.

Not sure what the total price breakdown of what you are getting is but the links to what you want look pretty high. I mean, my stuff that I sell are 10x better and mine are priced less.

Re: Re: Newb car audio alpine questions

you can always do research in google.

i got all of my stuff from www.ikesound.com. extremely cheap, as well as great products. anything you can think of they'll have it. I got my components and two ways from them. and it is a night and day difference.

holy crap that stuff IS cheap. They want like as much as 5 times those prices in some of the local stores here.

ie. 249.99 for single 12" sony explode at best buy.. although best buy is evil and jacks your wallet on almost everything in the store but movies and music.

The problem with Ikesound is none, and I mean none of their stuff is authorized so everything you get isn't warranted. So you're taking a risk, and you may have to pay to get a new one and end up spending more than you would have if you had just bought locally. It's up to you, and for the record I rarely buy authorized, so I'm not one to talk. Just something to keep in mind.

ya i have heard that there could be problems, but since i found that site 2 years ago i believe. I have yet to hear problems with any of my friends that has their entire set-up bought out of them. From dvd players, to screens, to tuners, to subs... not one problem. But it is a risk to buy anything unauthorized, just as much of a risk as buying used to. there could always be some sort of problem that isnt noticeable at the time.

It is a catch 22, pay dirt cheap prices, and possibly buy it again... or pay regular price and have a product that will always work. but it might take 3 or 4 purchases from ikesound to just come close to regular for some of them.

all of the products you listed will make for a very nice sounding system. a friend of mine actually has all of those products and its really good. i would recommend an amp for at least your front speakers also.

They warranty it themselves. You just send it back to Ikesound if something goes wrong and they will take care of it. I've also ordered from them tons. I've bought my last two complete systems from them and they have been great.
