bent valves?

ive got a 91 z24 with the 3.1 i bought it as is ,was told it needed a timing chain so i figured no big deal, put a new one on and car still wont start ,,find out all the intake pushrods are bent or broke...replaced them and still no start..no compression..is it possible valves got bent...and if thats the case would the pistons still be ok...engine has 200km on it...any help would be great

Re: bent valves?

it is very possible that the valves did get bent - because that is alot of strain on an engine when a rod breaks an is still tryin to function. Have you checked an made sure the timing was correct? - are you gettin spark ? are you gettin fuel from the injectors?

Had the timing chain broken? I would imagaine so going by what you posted, then at least one piston has hit a valve and that will more or less destroy the valves and will damage the pistons too. If it wont start if all the pushrods were broken then the lifters and valves are probably busted too.

I had to go into your profile to find this post.
