ls/vtec(frankenstien) with d-series engine

I was wondering if they can do his with a B series engine why not a D series?
The DX and LX are non vtex and the EX is. Ex head LX/DX bottom?
I know it might be a waste of money but hey what happens if it produces a lot of power.

Yeah, I imagine it would work, but I honestly would not see the point. But, who knows I guess.

I'll produce a whopping 127hp. Might as well just get a whole EX motor.

It's called a mini-me swap... and here's some info on it http://crx.honda-perf.org/articles/z6swap/z6swap.html
I believe EightOhOne over on the 4th gen civic/crx forum has/had on in his car.

Does the lx or dx have more torque than the ex?
like the ls has more than the gsr.
You never know.
maybe you can produce 160 HP from it.
Cheaper than a swap. and it will cost 500-1000 depends on where u go.

no lx and dx have less torque. they have a 9.4:1 compression ratio compared to the EX's 9.6:1. There's nothing that they have that the EX doesnt.

Right... if you have a later model car, there's really no reason to do this mod...
Would me much easier and probably cheaper to just get an EX engine and swap it over instead of just the head.

The DOHC motors end up producing more power than the SOHC when you do LSVTEC. The SOHC swap would be pointless. it's nothing like the DOHC motors.
