Thumbs down Transmission Problems 2004 Limited Explorer

I Have A 2004 Explorer Limited With 2500 Miles Own It 4 Months,
Car Wouldn't Go In Reverse And When I Did It Would Kick In With A Bad Jolt Or Just Do Nothing, Brought It To Dealer They Replaced Cellinoid Body Twice And Now Replaces Transmission, They Have Had The Car Since 9-21-04, I Get I Back Yesterday And This Morning I Go To Shift The Car In Reverse And I Did Not Have To Engage The The Lever, I Can Just Push It Up And Down.
I'm Sick To Death. I've Had It. I Told The Dealer I Want Out Of The Lease And Guess What Haven't Heard A Word..... Anyone Sick Like Me. Any Suggestions, Before I Start With The Lemon Law??????????

My friend has a 2004 Explorer with the same problem , she had her transmission replaced and that fixed it, so far, she just got it back. If she has anymore problems I will get back to you. Good Luck.

P. S. I did take my 2003 Centennial in for a thunk when it went into reverse, but that only happened 2-3 a month. Ford said there was a message on their board about that, if it happened that had to calibrate the software??? It seemed to fix my problem.

Angry Same Problem!

We bought our 2004 xlt in July and it's been to the dealer 3 times...once to repair the cellunoid... and twice because of the constant jolting and chattering and chugging. They've referred our problem to "FORD ENGINEERING" but haven't been able to give us an answer. We're sure the next step is a new transmission...!
We have a five year loan on this thing! I called CUSTOMER SERVICE and threatened that I would use the LEMON LAW in Pa.... they told me to follow the procedures outlined first in our customer handbook.

Any news on your end? PLEASE keep us posted!
Thanks!

Talking I Won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just An Update, We Got A New Vehicle Under The Nys Lemon Law. Not An Easy Task By Any Means But I Didn't Give Up With The Dealer, Who By The Way Stuck By Me The Whole Way, Did Everything And Anything For Us To Get The Ball Rolling With Ford. We Didn't Have A Vehicle For 1 And 1/2 Months And Were Still Paying For The Car. I Finally Got Pissed And Called The Executive Office And Got This Great Lady That Helped Us Out And Finally On November 18th They Gave Me A New Car. (expedition) They Towed The Explorer Away. Just Got A Notice From Ford Last Week They Are Being Recalled For The Transmission. Imagine That!!! I Also Read In My Local New Paper They Were Recalling 1.2 Million For The Same Reason. I Guess We're Not All Nuts Afterall. Don't Give Up, It's Frustrating But Worth It In The End. Good Luck. Here's The Kicker. When Ford Inc Came To The Dealership To Transport Vehicle Back To Detroit. The Idiot That Drove The Vehicle Got Parking Tickets In Manhattan Ny And Threw Them Away. Guess Who Has To Go To Court To Explain? Me.
