transmission filter
My Nissan part dealer says changing the transmission filter on the X isn't needed since it is just a screen. Unless you were having issues, them you would. Any thoughts on this statement? I know my 04' Quest doesn't list a filter. He said Nissans from around 95' on don't use a transmission filter. Just screens.

Re: transmission filter
And your dealer would pass up on a chance to get you to cough a couple hundred bucks to change a non-existant filter because...?
There is no filter, just keep the fluid fresh and it should last you a couple hundred thousand miles easily. Drain-and-fill (5 of 9 quarts tops) every 20K minimum, complete flush every 60K or so highly recommended. If you plan to keep the vehicle for a long time, have it flushed with synthetic ATF if you can afford it. Brent |

Re: transmission filter
I've been draining the fluid every 15k with the Nissan Matic D. Like you say, I'll do the 60k flush.
