Anti Theft/passlock problem
I just bought a used 2001 Chevy Suburban. It was a sweet deal on an excellent truck. Then the wife drove it home parked in the garage and there it sat. Just like Chevy advertizes "Like A Rock". The dealor told me that the garage door opener programming for the homelite system must have activated the theft deterent system. Needless to say they sent a wrecker to come get it because they said no way to recover without sending it to them. Anyone have a similar senario or solution? Any recovery in the event your in the middle of nowhere when this happens?
Thanks! |

Re: Anti Theft/passlock problem
Update:
The real service tech was at work today. They said the battery had a short. Replaced the battery and everything was A-OK. What a weird problem. There was NO indication whatsover that the battery was dead. The dot was green and the lights and radio worked. Hmmm. Oh well, I now have a new battery that was covered under warranty. |

Re: Anti Theft/passlock problem
I just posted a similar thread. My 97 Grand Am is stuck in reverse. I can't move the gear shifter, the ignition won't crank and there glows the "theft sys" light which has never lit up before! I don't know what triggered it now i'm trying to find out how to disable it IF that's where the problem is.
