While we're on the topic of God/Gods

I was going to post this in Davo's thread, but decided it might be better just to stick it by itself, anyhow...

I was wondering if anybody else noticed a small little passage in genesis.... *looks it up cause he can't remember where it was* ah here we go 6:2 it says (NIV translation, only one i have on hand) "the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose.
and 6:4
"The Nephilim were on the earth in those days- and also afterward- when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of reknown."

Anyone think it could be talking about the greek God's and other heroes we read about and stuff?
Just a thought, Tell me what you think.

I have read that. I have heard a couple translations and yours is one of them. I have also heard that the "sons of God" may be angels before lucifer was cast down and this became his domain. Another version is that it speaks of Lucifers angels. Interesting passage though. I will have to get out a few books and see if I can do a translation of that passage. I'll post it after I get it.

Found a link to a pretty good interpretation. It looks at several views and chooses the most logical one that doesn't conflict with scripture.
