Ok I need new struts now. Before I put on my skunk2's I need to know what kind I should buy. Here are my options:
Tokiko nonadjustable = $69/ea Kyb adjustables = 109/ex (quoted from my local shop) or something else if any of you have any other suggestions. I want a good ride. I travel both city streets and the highway all the time. So. Ideas opinions, all that shat. Thanks guys! *Chris |

with skunk 2s i dont think you can have adjustable struts. you need regular springs for adjustable struts
i believe they have to be springs with a 1.8" drop for adjustable shocks |

you could have coilover sleeves and adjustable shocks, but it'd be screwed up because you would have two ways to adjust height, but with a spring/ height adjustable shock combo, you better get about a 2'' lowering spring if you want it pretty low. because you wont be able to lower it that much just with the shocks.

An adjustable shock does not adjust the ride height...it adjust the ride quality and performance. Low setting = nice ride, not as stiff...High setting = hard ride, very stiff.
I have not heard of an adjustable shock/strut adjusting ride height (correct me if I am wrong). e-mail me for prices.

koni yellow are hella expensive. So whats the final verdict, I am only dropping it far enough to get rid of the gap between the tires and the fender. So do i really need adjustable or just go with tokiko nonadjustables.

whaat tha?
sorry but I think you are getting bad advice.
Praxis is right about shocks not adjusting ride height. not even koni sport {yellow} is capable of this. this can be easily verified at wholehyper.com check under susp. catagory also you did not say whether you have adjustale coilovers or lowering springs as skunk 2 makes both. you will be able to use adjustable shocks with any spring or coilover setup as shocks DO NOT ADJUST RIDE HEIGHT. |

Do you street race? If you do I would get adjustable shocks and struts. If this is strickly a daily driver i would stick to a non adjustable setup.
you can never go wrong with TOKICO. around 70 bucks a piece. or adjustables for about 110 each you get what you pay for. I know you will be satisfied with them because I myself have experienced both. if you want to spend a little more money I have heard nothing but good things about koni sports the yellow series. do not pay more than 140 a piece for these though. good luck |

this is only partialy true. you can go wrong with tokico if you plan on lowering 2'' or more

I am not looking to slam my car to the ground. I already have the skunk 2 adjustable coilovers. I know struts and shocks don't adjust height. I am just wondering if the adjustables will make that big a differece. I do street race, and i do attend the drags from time to time, and in the very near future I will be putting the buddyclub kit on my car. So i ask which should I go with: Tokiko non adjustables or KYB adjustables.
