93 exhaust ideas?

Ok, I have a 1993 Chevy regular cab shortbox pickup. I would really like to do a dual exhaust with two separate 2.5" pipes all the way from the truck headers to the back w/Flowmasters. Does anyone know of any companies that make an exhaust pre made like this? That little crossover is robbing power.

You have to have the cross over pipe because of the 02 sensor or you will get a check engine light

Actually, the O2 sensor is mounted in the exhaust manifold, (now header) so that shouldn't be a problem.
I just need a good, balanced, free-flowing, cat-free exhaust.

I would go to a local fab or muffler shop & ask if they can mandrel bend exhaust(so there will be no ginks or crumpling on the bends)also look at summit racing for a H pipe this will equalize both sides perfectly balancing your flow.If you have a 4x4 this may be a tight fit on your short box.

Re: 93 exhaust ideas?

I have two main problems: 1) the fuel tank is on the left side of the pickup, so it is impossible to have two pipes coming off each bank like older cars. 2) I have not found any X or H pipes for a cossover-type setup.
However, I can get a custom exhaust for around $250-$300, which is not too bad. It just would not be fully equalized.

Re: 93 exhaust ideas?

My last Summit catalog (Christmas) has Summit balance tube kit part #SUM-642025, this is 2 1/2" pipe for $36.95, this is the h pipe. Also Headman extreme exhaust equalizers part #HED18813, this is 2 1/2" pipe for $166.95, this is the x pipe. Summit offers one of their x pipe part #SUM642125 for $89.95. For $200 or $300 your custom exhaust sounds like a pretty good deal, don't know how to help you get around the fuel tank but make sure you don't run your pipe up too close to it.(you can boil your gas and cause vapor lock) Let me know how you come out.
