This morning, I too had a similar problem to the Rodeo that wouldn't start..I tried to start it,engine turned over but wouldn't fire...I never had a starting problem til now...Plus, my belt squeals like a pig being chased, as well. The sqeaking has persisted, although it has been repaired before...I never have a problem other than the sqealling. Wait..there's more...Last night, while idling...the SUV began to idle considerably harder..When I went to drive off, it stalled a bit then "caught up?" This persisted for about a 2 or 3 miles. When I parked..It reved up to about 3 rpm's til I shut the car off...I waited about 3 minutes, then restarted it. It started fine, and give a slight hint of the harsh idling...Go figure...Can anyone suggest anything...thanx |

Re: 95 Passport Wouldn't Start
I would start with the easy things. Dump some Gas HEAT into the gas. Maybe there is some water in the system that is freezing up?
Next, you may want to add some fuel injector cleaner to the gas (dirty injectors?). Then (depending on the age of the filter) swap out the fuel filter. As for the belts, I think the belt on the alt can be adjusted by moving the alt a bit. And while you're in there, make sure your battery connections are good and clean, and clean up your body ground points (and if you have one on your alt, clean that too).

Re: 95 Passport Wouldn't Start
You could spray some Starter Spray in the intake and see if it pops, if it does its fuel related.
