2 Completed Porsches- GT2 and 969

Both kits are Tamiya. The 959 was completed about a year ago, so its a little dusty and the rear window is falling out. The wheels are Revell GT1. The GT2 was completed this weekend. The wheels were painted with a special paint that has 14k gold in it. Is not that sparkely in normal light.

I may may be way off here, but isn't the black Porsche a "959", not a "969"?
Also, is the GT2 body painted? Window rubbers/window trim?

I have to say that neither of them seem finished. Window frames and black areas on the glass are really necessary, and especially so on the GT2, IMO.

the GT2 is painted. Tamiya didnt included a window masking sheet in the GT2 so i forgot to do it.

Re: 2 Completed Porsches- GT2 and 969

so i took both ur adivce and went to paint the window trims. i had the windows out on a my desk, next to the jar of flat black that i knocked over onto the windows, covering them. as pissed as i was i still tried to paint the frames and totally screwed up the rest of my paint job. so thats why i dont like to do window trims with out masking sheets.

Well, it's your choice, really. There are plenty of ways to paint these areas without masking templates. Besides, masking templates had absolutely nothing to do with your problem, did they? You can either continue leaving these areas unpainted or actually learn how to tackle them.

I don't like that f#@*cking job eather, but I think it's really necesary. I mask of as much as possible, the rest I paint as steddy as can be.....

Keep on trying!

I use thin strips of masking tape and some liquid mask. I think that when I get some free time I'll make an illustrated explanation of my method. But it's just that, my method. There are others, look around the threads, there also may be something in the FAQ and/or tutorial depositry.
