gas pedal sticking in idle position

i have 2000 sierra 1500 z71 stepside, the gas pedal sticks in the closed position. So I checked out the throttle body, carbon forms in the throttle body on and around the throttle plate, thus making it stick closed. Gm has a service bulletin out sayin to replace the entire throttle body with a new updated one, they say do not clean. So I get a bottle of carb clean and spend a good hour cleaning all the crap out of it, and it worked like a dream. thank u for your time
