Installation of aftermarket cd player in 1999 Taurus

Hey,

I am wondering how i connect the wiring from the back of the head unit to the plug coming from the dash. I have everything that came with the kit for installing a cd player in a Taurus. Nothing is making sense to me. The people at Ultimate Electronics told me that the really long cord with the plug on the end of it goes on the amp in the trunk or something like that. Well i found the amp and unplugged the plug from it and now i have no idea as of how to connect everything. The plug that is supposed to go from the plug in the dash to my headunit has nothing to connect to???? If i am unclear on anything just ask me. Please help asap! It gets a little annoying having no radio.

nevermind, i finally figured it out.
