Airbags?.....and a few other quest.

1,ok, im already guessing that a couple of haters are gonna be posting on here....but here goes..... i found an airbag (or airstruts/air cylinders, i forgot which) for my 88 hatch on airbagit.com for a lil more than a grand and i was wondering what all is involved in installing air suspension on a hatch? is it something 2 people (with basic suspension knowledge/no air suspension installing experience) could do with the proper tools?

2.also, on the engine...... it doesnt like to start when its warm.... but seems to work almost always when u flip the key over..... i could keep doing that, but u know the saying, "temporary fixes become permenant"
and i want to get the (225,000k+) engine back to stock or better working condition. apparently performance isnt a big deal here, i just want a dependable, good looking car. Oh and sometimes the Check Engine Light comes on the goes off.... What could be the fixes to these problems? i dont want to have to worry about it when im driving

3.does anyone know a site on what it takes for an LS swap in a hatch? if my engine is going nowhere but downhill, then i want to replace it, and if im going to swap a motor, it might as well be betta than stock!

if you have the hole complete airbag suspension kit,
(that bolts right up)you should be able to do it yourself,
(maybe with a book on it or the internet would be best!)
I have a friend w/a 4g4d with airbags,w/no mounting brackets,
he just took metal & welded it all together,(no problems)
I'm hoping to get airbags soon myself

if your engine has 225,000?
you could rebuild it,which would be better,but more money,
pistons+rings,crank kit,oil pump,valves,timing belt,water pump,ext....
will cost you well around 600-800 $,
or like you said,just swap w/another motor,it would be your best bet!
if your not for speed,go for the cheapest you can find,
on the check engine light,lift up the passenger side carpet,under the dash,you'll see a gold plate,w/a clear circle in the middle,put your key in & turn it once,you'll see it beap once,it shouldnt beep no more after that
if it does,count how many times it beeps & post it back on here,
we'll let you know what it is,
(that could be your problem for not starting somtimes!)

a guy around here has a 4g hatch with cylinders on his car and he said its basically like installing shocks on ur car, except u have to run air lines into the car.

for the starting problem, thats probably your main relay, i still have to replace mine. If I stall (which is kinda rare) or if its hot out it doesnt want to start all the time, and if not I gotta wait a few minutes.

I like airbags, Im really thinking about getting them on one of my CRX's. If you get them let us know how the install goes

the LS Swap is the same as the MPFI swap......and if you get bags.....dont forget the teflon tape to stop leaks.

Installing airstruts on a car is EXTREMELY EASY. basically jack it up, and mount the equipment, hook up your lines, and your basically done... just wire the valves. email me at [email protected] if your interested, i have a wireless remote too.
