can i remove 180km/h limiter>??

how do i get rid of the 180km/h speed limiter??...

on my car i clocked it past the 180 (got to 185) but i wasnt watching the tacho and i think the rev limiter kicked in...

is there a way of overriding it?... heard i re-program the ecu???

is getting rid of the speed/rev limiter bad for the engine??..
