Fuel Guage reads Empty, 4X4 light flashes

1999 Blazer- Just replaced Rear main seal and oil pan gasket , had 93,00 mile on it. Had to remove Transfer case, Trans. and differential. Gas guage does not work. Everthing in cluster works except fuel guage .Lite says low fuel.Tank is full.Never had problem with fuel guage.Guage reads empty. This is a 99 automatic with 4.3. Any help.
Also 4 wheel drive switch lights (dash) flash except in 2 wheel Hi.This has 3 switches and a automatic button also. When I try to switch to 4 Hi or low all I have is a flashing lite. when I put back into 2 hi light works fine. Any suggestions.

On the 4 x4 check the vacuum line on the center fire wall that gooes to underneath the battery tray, to a actautor check for rips or leaksm then, push in teh actautor, and see if the cable moves free to teh front axel.. I had to reoplace my cable, the battery leaked acid ond corroded thru.. good luck

You will need to replace your fuel sender.

The 4x4 problem is caused by a vacuum hose leak, a bad vacuum module or the encoder motor.

Did the 4x4 work before they removed it for the rear seal?

Yes I had no problem with 4 X 4 till they did the repair work. They said they didn't do anything with the 4 x 4 to cause this proble. Also fuel guage worked fine till they did the work. Could this problem be one of the connectors that was disconnected in the wiring harness when Trans, Transfer cas and differential was removed.

That is bullshit.

They removed practically the whole drivetrain, how can they say they did NOTHING to the drivetrain.

Take it back and DEMAND them to fix what was working in the first place.

Go right to the manager or even the owner.

Don't put up with this shit.
