ABS Light..

just came on. Has anyone else had thiers come on. What does the code read or is it a multitude of things.. i.e. Joe needs to change his brake pads. I know when the brake light comes on it means Hey Joe add some brake fluid.

Lightbulb

Are you experiencing inclimate weather, IE. very cold weather, snow?
Mine has gone on under these conditions. The sensor freezes up and when the car warms up it goes off.

I just had to replace my ABS relays. They are in that little black box next the unit up front. After time these just wear out.

What was happening to me is that even when I shut the car off, the ABS motor was still running. So I just pulled the ABS MTR fuse out to get that to stop till I could replace the relays.

The dealer told me this was a common problem and they do wear out after a while. Check this out.

I have yet to have a wheel speed sensor go bad.

My light just comes on when driving around normally.

UHmmm i think the parts were $60ish a piece. theres two.

When you shut off the car, see if there is any buzzing/motor running noise coming from the pax front side of the car...if so, then your ABS motor is still running. If you dont catch this soon and pull the ABS MTR fuse, you will burn out your motor. This is a costly replacement.

I havent heard of anyone having a wheel speed sensor go bad yet, so im assuming they're pretty good. Some may freeze in cold conditions with slush up there tho I think. Your milage may vary.
