electrical problems

just got a 89 rs, dont have any books on it yet. needing help with the power locks. neither set of buttons (driver or pass. side) work. it makes no sound. the fuses are good, so i was wanting to test the wires. ive got a multimeter, just need to know where to ohm it out.

also, ive been hearing a electric sound, like a motor, coming from the driver side just behind the door. it does this about every 20 or 30 minutes when the car is not running. i think its the fuel pump but not sure why it would do this. no fuel leaks anywhere. its much louder than the normal fuel pump sound.

thanks for your help....

Re: electrical problems

sounds like the aftermath of DIY remote starter..

Are you sure it doesnt, or hasnt had one in?? sometimes when the remote starters malfuntion, people just hide all the wiring and computer or cut it off.. then forget about it til they sell the car..

Re: electrical problems

contact the person who sold it to you, and ask them about the history of the car. make sure you are clear that you just need to know in order to fix it, not to make them pay. If you approach it that way, they are more likley to be forthcoming with information.
