Question 1997 and 200 civic ex headunit question

i have a 1997 civic ex coupe. we all know the keyless entry dillema. i put a 2000 civic cd-player in my car (i had the 6-disk controller) and i finally got all the wires soldered in. well..i go to plug everything up and it wont work...all that happens is the security light blinks at me...as if it is laughing at me. problem number 1 i need a plug diagram to tell which wires are which. and color coding wont work i need placement. 9mainly hte constant hot and ignition hot and the dimmer) i drew constant hot from my security plug cause my memory wire from the fuse block is shot somewhere.

problem 2. keyless entry. my old radio has power and everything...turns on..and nothing. key fob wont work. i called 2 honda dealerships the first one said that it wouldn't work because of interference i said bullshi# and called a different one. he told me to hold down the button between the am/fm button and cd button and then hit lock and unlock...well no dice it didn't work. anyone have some ideas on either of these

Maybe it won't work because you need the head unit code to unlock it. Like how if you unplug stock units, they need that security code for it to turn on. some kind of theft deterrent thing.

and thats what I hate about Honda.....you have to goto the dealer to get them to punch up the code according the serial number on the back of the radio....which is all crap because they want to see if it is stolen.

Well, the owner of the head unit before you would have the code either on a card in your ownersmanual, or it is on a sticker inside the glove box.

yeah i know..its my girlfriends radio...it doesn't ever give me the option to put teh code in..i have the little card...i had it in before..only all i did was tape the wires together...i went back through a soldered the wires together...plugged it up....it worked but still no constant power (memory) so i unplugged it......looked at the back of the plug and used an automotive circuit tester to see if i had power to everything....it all checked out...plugged it back in and no bueno. all it does is, like i said, the security light flashes.......like its laughing at me........
