Question Transmission Swap Manual to AT

I have purchased a 92 civic cx hb recently restored with no engine. I then purchased a JDM D15B SOHC Engine with an automatic transmission complete with wire harness, ecu and axles. Now I am realizing that the fact the car previously had a manual transmission might present a problem when I go to drop the motor and trans in. A freind informed me that the interior wire harness might not be suitable for an automatic transmission. Also I am now wondering if there is an automatic shifter and linkage that will bolt in with no modifications as the cx hb was never offered with an auto. Have I made a mistake with this engine trans combo? What other potential problems might I need to look out for? Also I am only using this car as an in city comuter car not for performance which was why I got the auto.

Re: Transmission Swap Manual to AT

You should get a manual transmission. If you sold your auto tranny and bought a manual one with that $, it'd be a lot easier to just swap that over than doing the conversion. It will also cost some dough to buy all the stuff to make your car an auto. If you do decide to get a manual tranny, don't get a CX one. I have the stock motor and tranny in my CX right now. And I eat my clutch daily because I have to rev to 2,000 RPMs and slip the clutch to get it to move and not stall. Other wise the ideal one would be the VX and then the DX. The VX does have long gears but they are not as bad as the CX. And you would be able to stay in 1 gear while between stops (aka not having to shift to 3rd and back).
