I believe there are some differnces in the head design (valve sizes, seat material etc) the injector sizes and what Turbo's were used that are relevent to what your doing.

So if you dont mind Ill move this to the Engine section of the Infinity G20 forums which contian a collection of guys who know far more about the Sr20 family than anyone in here does.

Goodluck with your project, just one bit of advice though, you need a RWD gearbox from a 200sx/Sylvia (is the 240sx one the same?). not the FWD/4WD Gearbox from the Bluebird/GTi-R

Yeah right motors wrong cars. You'll be looking for a Silvia motor for your 240sx. (yes Moppie USDM 240sx = JDM Silvia = AUDM/NZDM/UKDM 200sx) The BB and GTi-R motors are for FWD cars only.

Surly the Bolt pattern on the back of the SR20 block is the same regardless of what car it come out of. Meaning why can't you simply turn it round and bolt it into a 200sx, even it came from a GTi-R.
Or are there other major differnces, such as Turbo position and intake manifold size that prevent them from fitting into the RWD 200sx.

And does the g/box from the USDM 240sx fit an SR20? I thought they used a non SR motor, that came from small truck or something?

You could make anything work but there are some serious differences that if you were to try it you'd have been better off to just get the correct motor in the first place.

First of all the block castings are indeed different. The RWD block will not bolt up to a FWD gearbox. I'm 98% certain the mounting bosses for engine mounts and other things are different as well.

The plenum and TB will be facing the wrong direction.

This is just for starters, but I'm tired (been working 10-12 hours a day for a while) and am trying to get through all my mail/forum info.

Jason (G-Forces) is absolutely correct.

Actually, they are for AWD cars, but will bolt up to the FWD gearbox. Two bolts won't be used, but that's not a big deal.

Yeah, I've actually been looking into a S13 240sx w/ DET swap, as a second car You do need to use the Silvia motor, one of the most important things is you have to use to the Silvia tranny, which comes with the silvia motor. That and like Geo and Jason said, they do not line up, you might be able to do it, just would take a lot of time and money...
Check this out, these are the two different SR20 styles.

It's my understanding it can be made to fit in both the S13 and S14. You just need to use the S15 motor, tranny, driveshaft and differential...
If you do a little bit of research on that site, and some links that site has, it should give you a good start as to what needs to be done, as it's a pretty well documented swap/conversion, well SR motor in a 240 at least.

Ahhh! I C said the Honda owner. Not all SR20Dets are the same.

I thought things like Inlet and exhasut manifolds would be differnt, but they are not hard to change when an engine is out of the car.

However the bolt patter being differnt on the back of the block is a surprise. Ill have to keep a note of that if I ever choose to repower my kit car again 2tge -> 4agze(current) -> SR20det (high hp dream)

So what engine was used in the USDM 240sx?
