I've got an anoying rattle coming from the passenger airbag panel. I can't figure out this removal nor can I find reference material in Haynes or Autozone. Can anyone assist?

Are you sure it is coming from the air bag panel?
Just because by coincidence, this week my van was making a rattling noise which I thought was comming from the passenager air bag. But after driving around and banging on the dash or putting pressure in different spots, no change. Turned out to be the passenger side, inner fender flap (which prevents dirt from getting into the engine compartment) had come loose and fallen down and was rubbing against the side of the tire. So it sounded alot like when kids clip baseball cards to their bikes so as they drive around the spokes hit the card and make a flapping sound. |

Re: 97 passenger airbag panel removal
Thanks Tableman for quick reply. I know what you mean because I once experienced the same noise. This one is different and definetely coming from the general area of the passenger airbag. In fact, I can repeat the rattle if I jerk the handlebar up & down. Somehow I need to take a look inside that compartment.

Forget this request I've finally put my finger on the rattle. The noise was coming from the friction of the dashboard with the RH windshield post cover.
I sprayed some silicone lube in the joint and bingo! Silence at last. |
