Re: Headers for '95 maxima?

i wanted headers when i had my 4th gen. IMO you're better off just getting the downpipe(y pipe) and saving the rest of the money for something else.

Since you're a 95, get the MEVI and ECU upgrade. Heck, even without the ECU it's still worth it.

Re: Headers for '95 maxima?

shit, a 4th gen with a VI, Y pipe and ecu would be a damn bullet. i'd predict low 14's or high 13's, maybe even better. damn i miss my 95.

i agree the ypipe is way cheaper and is right up there in freeing up power, even with headers over a ypipe you are looking at maybe +5hp over a ypipe and when you consider the money , its only for certain modders, you get the looks, and a different experience usually from the superior exhaust note, but if your just looking for freeing up some hp's stick with a ypipe.

while a bit harder to install than an mevi the 00VI is now the way to go, again from what i understand its not just plug and play but is the new intake manifold of choice for the 95-99 vq30de maximas (the 4th gen guys)

touching back on the headers they are expensive, and your looking at a 6 hour average install. if your not doing it yourself you can add another 350 dollars to the overall price.

i personally love the headers, and they make the engine bay shine a bit more, but its going to cost you.

ideas:
ypipe
upgraded ecu
lightweight rims (big time overlooked item to make a car go go go !) stick with 16's and if your max has stock 16's on it hey you only have rims to buy good example rota subzero 16's you can get them for 500 shipped !

anyways thats enough to chew on !! just go get some go fast mods! it just makes ya feel good ! lol
