2004 hemi a/c hot

2nd trip to dealer as blowing hot air.

Anybody heard that these were shipped by factory knowing that they had and still have, a computer problem with the a/c in some vehicles?

I am taking mine to the dealer for the second time tomorrow for the same thing. Mine will work fine most of the time and then it will blow hot air. I cut it off and cut it back on and it works fine. Any suggestions.?

Same thing exactly.
They have had since Thursday, so I'll be calling tomorrow.

04 Hemi a/c Hot

I've had the same thing happen to me twice so far. I'm not overly concerned just yet but I would like to know what the problem is. Please advise if anyone does find out what the problem is. Sounds like it might be a recall???

found out what the problem is with the ac blowing hot air, went to the dealership today because i had the problem again today and they said its a software issue and dodge is aware of the problem, the new program should be out in a couple of weeks, whats happening from what they told me is that the computer is telling the clutch not to engage at certain times hence is why the compressor isn't turning on, when they pull the fuse or clear the codes it will work, but you will still have the issues until the new program is installed in the pcm

Will Dodge issue a recall for this problem or is it up to the owners to point it out?

just ask the service manager if the new software is out yet, when i had mine in it was blowing hot air at the time so there was no mistaking it, he looked it up so im sure they know of the problem or will soon

Exclamation Computer fix doesn't always work

I had the same problem with my a/c and it still happened again after they did the flash memory updatethat was supposed to fix the initial problem. I took it back and they did another flash memory update they had received. It hasn't happened since the second memory update.

Re: 2004 hemi a/c hot

I have been to the shop 3 times. The first time they didn't know. They had to do some checking. 2nd time they did the software update - didn't work. 3nd time the replace the controller head and software update again. Today, it messed up again. Blowing hot. Turn vehicle off and restart it and it works. The dealer is going to see if there is any new ideas.

Hello, I too have had my 04 Durango in the shop for over 20 days! I had the car for months without the A/C working properly. I had it fixed and I cannot get it to duplicate at the dealers.
would you mind calling me at 951-333-4369 or emailing me [email protected] please to see if we can help each other. I am so upset at this purchase.

I await your reply.

My Best,

Arthur

Re: 2004 hemi a/c hot

I too have a 2004 Durango with this problem. Has anyone found a true solution? Dodge customer support just gives me the deer in the headlights stare when I call, and the last time I spoke w/my dealer about it, he said that no fix had been released (this was AFTER the 8/22 post above where Emrobin stated the flash had been released). Can someone who has had the flash PM me with the phone # of the dealer who did it? I'd like to give that to my dealer and try to get this fixed before summer comes along again.

Thanks,
Doc
