Unhappy HELP PLEASE oil warning light

HELP!!! i have a Golf Mk3 Gti 16v colour concept. when i drive the lady fast ( 100-110 mph) on the motorway for more than 15 mins the oil warning light comes on with a very annoying beeping sound. same when i trash it with high reving. ( was made to be trashed. no! ). checked the oil level and its fine ( used 10/40w synthtic oil) .

P.s when i drive it normally its also fine. when the light does come on after thrashing at high revs. if i switch the car off then switch it back on the light goes off, but start the thrashing again and the darn thing is back. PLEASE PLEASE HELP im at wits end and feel like selling it its only done 57,000 and iv been very good to it apart from the odd occasion. i love the bitch and really dont want to get rid.

I am not sure about the thickness of 10/40w but I had a 89 jetta and it did the same thing and all I did was add a thicker oil that might work for you...

A while ago i had a similar problem with my GTI. I changed the oil pressure sensor for what I thought was an identical part but it turned out there are pressure differences between GTI and non-GTI engines.
The part i fitted was non-GTI and activated the lights/buzzer at about 3000 revs. The GTI needs higher oil pressure above 3000 and so subsequently a different sensor is fitted. The plastic moulding around the electrical connection is the giveaway, can't remember which one I ended up fitting.
Hope this is of some help.

looks like your oil is too thin... 10w-40 synthetic.. thats the stuff used in the tdi because it NEEDS thin oil. Run some 5w-30 normal oil and see if it makes a difference. Also, high rpm oil lights mean you have low oil pressure because either the oil is thinning too much or your bearings are worn excessively.
