99 Dodge Intrepid in wreck

Wife rear ended a car, after getting back from the body shop, we're losing the door locks, and now the check engine light is on, the hood was smashed into front of motor where the wiring is. would this cause a problem with the door locks, i had them working right after we got the car but when the check engine light came on we lost the door locks again, even when you do it from inside car the drivers door lock doesn't work the rest work ok.

A frontend smash raises a number of possibilities for problems. First of all: More information is needed.
1. What is the year of your car?
2. Does the car have keyless entry?
3. You said "I had them working right after we got the car but when the check engine light came on we lost the door lock again,.....Question/s: Did you do something to make them work, and does the check engine light stay on, or come on each time you turn on the ignition switch?

Only one door lock not working indicates the possiblity of a broken wire bad ground etc. to the driver's door.

1.1999 Dodge Intrepid 2.7
2. No keyless entry
3. when we pick car up auto door locks would not work also the drivers door lock would not work when using the door lock switch from inside, did the three time on and off with key switch that got the door locks to auto lock when driving, when i moved the wires under hood lost the door locks and the engine came on while i was driving.
4. I moved some wires in a black bundle on the front of engine where cross bar smached into the front of engine. After doing this and driving car for (3) three days after getting it from shop, the check engine light came on and stays on while driving. Light comes on everytime you start engine and stays on, i have even unhooked the (-) battery cable to see if this would clear the code out, check engine light came right back it never goes out like before the wreck.
5. if you want you can email me at papaw2812atcharter.net i can send a picture of car showing where the damage was to front of car, if this would help any.

1. Check Engine Light Problem: Being a 1999, your Intrepid has an On Board Diagnosis (OBD-11) system. Are you familiar with how to extract the codes? If you are, tell me what the double didgit code number/s are.
2. Door Lock Problem:
a. Check circuit breakers and fuses.
b. With key on, engine off, operate the door lock switches in the
lock and -unlock positions and while doing so, listen for a faint
click of the relay operating. (The relay is located on the
fuse block. Drivers side of dash.)

The faint clicking you can hear, locks are working fine now, as far as the check engine light, have unwrapped the wiring harness and found two wires where they were smashed up against a bracket were broken and problem is corrected, bodyshop had pulled them away to replace bracket. I want to thank Souphound for trying to help on this matter!
