My first shot at stripping paint #@%$&?/>

I have modified several diecast, but they have all remained original paint. Is there a faster way to get that stuff off. Tried Castrol Super Clean for two days, used oven cleaner overnight with a fresh shot in the morning, Greased Lightning and the last little bit of brake fluid I had. Most of the undersides came off easily, but the outside parts with a good shine of them must need to be dymonitted off. I have a deadline to meet. HELP!

So you want to strip paint......how about some paint stripper?

Go to wal-mart and get a can of paint stripper, make sure the temp where you're working is pretty warm and take that stuff off. Its not rocket science.

Take all the plastic off, and use Jasco.

Well ... you could do what I do, get a dremel and a tough grit sand attachement and go to town on the car. And then after words sand it down ALOT cause the metal definately wont be even. Probably not the best method, but eh whatever, I tried it, doesnt look half bad.

Found some paint stripper in the garage (I forgot I had). Took off all the paint in about 15 minutes. Thanks for all of the tips!

You could have heated the paint up with a torch, and then jsut crack it off.

if your going to strip paint, go to walmart and get a can of "aircraft stripper" it will work better than any stripper out there and it is pretty cheap.just make sure not to get it on any plastic peices because it will melt it. also, be sure to follow all the safety precautions labled on the can as it is very potent stuff.

Don't use heat to remove paint unless you have to, some diecasts are too weak to hold up under heat.
