Weird Cooling Issue
I just got my radiator flush done. It was 50,000 miles since I got a new radiator so i figured I should get a flush. I have the typical 1995 Aurora that has a temp of 200 on the highway and like 230 or so in traffic. Well now after the flush the DIC displays LOW ENGINE COOLANT. There is plenty of coolant. Also the fans are on all the time! The temp does not go above 200 even in traffic now, however the fans are on as soon as I start the car. The place said they tried to find a sensor on the coolant container but could not fine one. Where would the sensor for the coolant be?
My question is should I leave it like this (since the fans keep the temp cooler) or go complain at the place I got the flush done and say fix this you broke it (as the fans might get over worked and annoying DIC message). Any ideas? Thanks in advance! ~Chris |

Re: Weird Cooling Issue
I went back to the place and it was the sensor... It was stuck on the bottom of the surge tank. Its like a toilet valve it rises up when its full :-P Guy fixed it no charge. Yay my baby is ok again :-P

Re: Weird Cooling Issue
Did you ask about putting the supplement tablets in the system? Ask them where to put them in at. If they put them in the surge tank instead of in the hose that can cause problems. Also, you need to use either Bars leak Gold or the Gm tablets. They or not metal based and won't plug up what does not need to be plugged.
It is an important move for these motors. You could call them like a new customer and ask a few questions. |

No I didn't... I'll have to do that. I keep forgetting about it. Thanks. What do those tablets do? Are they expensive?

When I changed my coolant I just crushed them up and put them in the overflow tahk. No problems *knock on wood*
