Power Problems

I have a '91 passat that I love, but 2 months ago I had a problem, the problem was that I found the sparks soaked with oil, the car started OK and ran for a few seconds after that It had no power to move on the first gear, neither any other gear.

I took it to the mechanic and he did a major job to the engine, we tought that it was what it needed, but after finish the job, he started the car and sound OK, but when we try to run it, nothing moves, actually it goes down,

I do not what to do as the mechanic already checked everything he knows, he actually changed the heads from another car with no luck.

I am living in place where is hard to get a machanic that knows about this, as my mechanic already asked some others with the same answer I DON'T KNOW.

I tooked to the dealer and they were no able to even check it they did not have the equipment needed.

If you know something that may help me with this, please post an idea and I will try it as soon as possible.
