another fun night at the races

well the racing season ended on a fairly good note on friday night, it was one of the most fun nights ever. at the local strip, known simply as "the highway", i rolled up there in my 90 laser turbo, my friend with an old school b16 hatch, and a low 13 second caprice. first off, i raced the guy with the b16 hatch; it was a really good race as i beat him by less than half a car length. then i raced a z24, easy victory. then i rolled up to an infamous turbo saturn, that car is notorious for blowing the doors off of unsuspecting cars every weekend. well i pulled next to him anyway, he dropped it into second so i did the same, we hit it and surprisingly i was beating him for a while. he mustve had one of those monstrous gt-series turbos, cuz i could hear that thing spooling over the sound of my engine or exhaust, it was just dominant. right about when i hit 4th gear, at about 90 mph, he blew right by me like i was standing still. thats not all though, on the way back me and the guy in the hatch pulled next to a white late model firebird, im not sure but i think it was a v8, it sounded pretty damn mean. after we all got even with eachother, we just punched it and took off; me and the hatch left the firebird in the dust. i know that some of you guys hate street racing, but i just do it once in a while.

Sounds like fun. Glad you didn't die.

I didn't know anyone would bother with a turbo saturn...do they even make internals for those things?

Re: another fun night at the races

im sure they do make aftermarket internal parts for saturns; those engines arent very relaiable for everyday use, much less with a big turbo on it

Re: another fun night at the races

you can get aftermarket internals for any car if you're willing to have the engine apart for awhile.

Re: another fun night at the races

i want an awd 1g too. im sick of either smoking the tires or dealing with tire lag in 1st gear.i think maybe new tires will help a little, since my tires spin in 2nd gear when the turbo spools up sometimes
