Creaking noise at passenger window - Eclipse spyder convertible top

I'm having an issue with creaking noise coming from the upper area of the window frame of the Eclipse Spyder convertible top, model year 2004. It occurs with bumps, when the top moves most. During cold weather it worsens, and as well at high speeds (70+) it will start creaking. If you put pressure against the window, the creaking will stop. As well, a very slight lowering of the window will also remove the creaking noise issue. The driver's side does not do this, just the passenger side.

Has anyone had issues with this creaking sound in their Spyder soft tops? If so - what are some suggested remedies?

I've thought of treating the weather stripping with something, in hopes that would remove the creaking noise. But I'm not sure what would be a good thing to treat the weather stripping with - I hear that armor-all is a terrible thing to use.

Suggestion?

Thanks!

armor all will be bad for the weather stripping. you might qwant to check in the 2000+ forums to see if anybody there has had this problem

Re: Creaking noise at passenger window - Eclipse spyder convertible top

Thanks - posted in that forum as well.

Yeah - armor all is crap from what I hear. Never use the stuff. I used to use a product called 'Tannery'. I remember it being good stuff - but not sure how it works on modern day plastics and polymers. All I do today is just use a mild soap and water moistened sponge on my cars and Jeeps. But, I've tried that already on the weatherstripping. Cleaning it doesn't remove the creaking issue.

Thanks for the response!
