00 Blazer heater core nightmare
I’m changing a heater core on a ’00 Blazer, I’ve taken off every screw insight to remove the dash however it’s still hanging up… Any pointers on what may be holding this dash up, something out of sight maybe.
Also I’m following the Chilton’s manuals and they recommend that I remove the E-brake release lever but I can’t figure out how to remove it. Help please!!! |

Re: 00 Blazer heater core nightmare
if you take out the long screws on the top of the dash i think there are 6 or 8, and 2 bolts on each side of the dash it should tilt back. it's been a while since i had one apart but i think you have to remove the instrument pannel cluster too. to remove the park brake release remove the dash pannel with the obd2 port then follow the brake release cable to the brake mechanism release lever. pull the lever back and pop out the cable then pop the cable casing out of it's bracket. should come out easy. good luck

Re: 00 Blazer heater core nightmare
I have a haynes manual and I followed it after I jacked around with my dash for like four hours...go back and read and look at each picture and be absolutly sure you can account for every bolt they talk about. I forgot to remove one and my dash felt like it was welded to China!!!
