VSS Problem??

has anyone had a problem/had to replace their VSS (vehicle speed sensor)? If so, what were some of the problems you were having with the vehicle before it was replaced?

don't think it matters but, i have the three speed auto trans.

Re: VSS Problem??

I haven't heard of anyone having problems with it. Only ones i have heard of, is when people mess it up while trying to modify it for the worse. While i am not going to post on how to get to it since i am very against tampering with it. Somthing like this needs to be takin to a dealership.

no, no, don't want to modify it. the vehicle is having trouble shifting, under normal acceleration the shift point veries... sometimes it won't shift at all. also when the vehicle is in drive and i put my foot down it doesn't downshift. i really don't want to take it to a dealership to have it looked at, i know where it is and how to replace it, just want to know if there's anyway to test the vss to see if that's causing the problem.

problem isn't tranny fluid and filter, already did that.
