1996 Tranny problems

I have a 96 automatic TL. My transmission seems like it shifts hard from 1st gear to 2nd. Does anybody have this problem and if anybody knows what going on with my car, can you help!!

Have you ever changed the tranny fluid? If not that needs to be done ASAP.

Thanks for the info, I just bought the car last month so I am unsure if it has ever been done. I will do it immediately to see if anything changes.
