Relay location for heater/blower motor 1996 S-10

Hello All!
Quick question.... Does anyone know the exact location of the relay that operates the heater (blower motor) in a 1996 S-10? I have the Chilton manual but I cannot find any relevant info. I was told by someone that it is one of the relays on the firewall, but there is 3 or 4 in a row (not sure 3 or 4 , too tired to check right now). If I remember right they are all the same type of relays (on the firewall). Also is there more than 1 relay for the blower motor?

Many thanks in advance for any help!

Robert

the 3 relays in your engine area on the fire wall is for the air cond. system..I think the blower is only fused, it should be marked as HVAC on your fuse panel

Re: Relay location for heater/blower motor 1996 S-10

Just one relay and I just replaced it and yes I have a 96 also. I wonder if your having the same problem I am with the HIGH posisition not working on the blower motor. Well I think its the one thats all the way closest to the drivers side. There are three of these and they do look all the same and there located right in front of the passenger up high on the fire wall (but you know this already) Please tell me what your problem is maybe you could help with mine.

I believe the high position uses its own relay.

Hello Inze,
Does your heater work at all? Or just not in the high position?

My heater/air does not work at all. As far as the high position relay... I do hear the relay click when i turn it too the high position, but do not get any air.

My problem started as a working heat/air system, then went to a working but just in the defrost/floor vent ( which would lead me to believe it is a vacuum leak because that is the default settings when the dampers will not open because of vacuum leak). Now it does not work at all! Blower motor out??? Will try to check when I get a chance.

Let me know if you have any success in fixing your problem.

Thanks!
Robert

Inze....
I just read your other post regarding your heat problem. I see that you are getting heat in the low positions.
One other thing we have in common is the light flickering issue. I had that for awhile, but it went away. Electrical problem??? Why can't these things be easy?!!?

Oh well.... I will let you know if I come across a solution to my problem. Would appreciate it if you did the same.

Thanks!
Robert
