If I remove the catalytic converter's on my 2001 rodeo will that cause any problems with my ecu since it has O2 sensors after the cat?

It doesnt matter i live in the bahamas. we have no emmissions control here.

You might be able to use O2 sensor simulators. I know alot of people get rid of the cats and use them but I havent seen that on a rodeo yet.

wow i never even knew those existed. Thanks for the great info. Now i have to find out if they will work on my rodeo. Seems they are all for GM and ford. Maby since the rodeo has a few gm parts it might work.

You might consider making your own O2 simulator.

You could conduct an experiment by connecting an amp meter in series with the wires to the O2 probe and then take it for a test drive. While driving observe what the meter is reading during various driving conditions and record these values. Next, with the key switch in the on position, measure the voltage across the wires of the probe.

Take the measured voltage and divide it by the high and low current measurements. This will give your the resistance range of the O2 probe. From this value, select a resistive value in the middle for a starting point.

Buy a 1 to 3 watt resistor approximately close to this mid point value and disconnect the O2 probe and install the resistor in its place. Take a test drive and see how she runs. You may won't to vary the resistance value for best performance.

It's a good plan LetsRodeo, but you do need to vary the resistance readings per this vehicles' programming map, or you will have a perpetual bank 1 sensor 2, and bank 2 sensor 2 'inactivity' code. You will also need to keep the sensor heater circuits closed to prevent a code as well.
It's a LOT of work for no real results. Modifiying the any part of the exhaust on this truck pretty much only makes it sound different!

Probably. Most of the rodeo's electrical system is GM/delphi.
