Fueling up problem

i got a 91 S15, 2.5L 5spd little truck, my fuel gauge does not work so i watch my km..when i bought it 2 months ago it had a full tank of gas, since then ive kept the tank filled right up, never below half...then i got lazy and let it get low...so i went and started to pump, got about 12 litres (3 gallons or so) in my tank, the nozzle starts clicking like its full...well i know thats not right cuz i just put under 500 km on a full tank and i know i should get at least 100km for every 10 litres, so its for sure empty....so i keep trying...and it wont take the gas nozzle, i have to trickle in gas holding the nozzle right out of spout, and if i go too fast it over spills! but the tank still takes it, slowly. its not full. its almost like a backup in pressure or something, but yah has anyone known or heard anything like this? im tired of stopping every day to trickle in 10 dollars in gas =/

Re: Fueling up problem

There may be a hose going from the top of your fuel tank to the filler neck, its supposed to vent air from the tank to the outside while filling, sounds like yours may be plugged. If it doesn't have the hose like I described it could be a problem with the EVAP system. Send a PM to BlazerLT - he posts regularly on the Chevy Blazer and GMC Jimmy forums and should be more familiar with the system used
