Diassembly and rebuild of 13B engine.

Just pulled the 13B motor from my son's 1993 RX7. We were wondering if any one has a methodical procedure on what comes off first to get down to the bare block. Also is there a site that a shop manual can be bought online. We are going to attempt a rebuild as one of the water seals is shot and pressurizing the cooling system. We did buy a rebuild video from Atkins. This will be our first venture into rotory. In the past we have done rebuilds on eclipses so I think we should be able to do this one. Any advise is appreciated.

There are shop manuals on CD on e-bay if you do a search for "93 maxda rx 7". Good luck with the rebuild, take very very VERY detailed notes and photos if you have a digital camera of how it comes apart cause there is no cam or timing belt in there.

taking it apart is the easy part. its the measuring of all the tolerances which is a bitch. And keeping all the seals in place when you put it back together. But other than that, to actaully break it down to pieces is a lot less involved than.. a piston engine.

well, remember how to do this because you will be rebuiling it again in less than 60-70k miles, and your turbos are next.
